A disciple is a follower. To teach people how to follow Jesus is to teach them Bible study. In using the chronological daily Bible study plan, listeners learn the whole counsel of God's word and they are able to mature in their faith.
Think of the analogy of the family. When we are born, we depend on our parents for everything - food, clothing, bathing -- everything! As we mature we become more and more self sufficient, eventually becoming parents ourselves.
